First Class Tailored Solutions is a company led by Janet Starr (formerly Individualised Provision Lead with Notts LA) and Beverley Kirk (formerly English Teacher/Assistant Head and Head at Oakdale Learning Centre). We have a team of skilled specialist teachers, TAs and other educational professionals, youth workers, counsellors etc, who offer 1:1 support for young people unable to attend school for a variety of reasons. Education is offered in a range of settings and we aim always to match the needs of the young person with an appropriately skilled professional, offering an individual package in consultation with schools/referrers.
Group work packages are available in some areas to meet the varying needs of learners. Group work can include a wide variety of vocational study and qualifications, it can meet the needs of enrichment, engagement and socialisation for certain learners, it can address the needs of anxious/non attending learners by providing small, carefully managed steps towards reintegration.
First Class Tailored Solutions offers a bespoke and personalised educational package for children and young people across all Key Stages. We can deliver a broad and balanced curriculum (max 16 hours). Foundation learning, national accreditation and key skills and a blended package including academic and vocational provision.
Regular monitoring and reporting ensures all stakeholders are kept informed about progress and contact with parents/carers is a key feature of our work.
Learners are taught across Nottingham city and county in a variety of venues, we do not have teaching premises. Learners are also taught within the home. There are two locations for small group work, Swan Lane Mansfield Woodhouse and Haxey, Doncaster.
