What’s on offer?

Freedom Foundation Alternative Provision offers a safe space for creative learning for children and young people at risk of exclusion. We enable students to re-engage with academic learning, improve behaviour and attainment by providing them with the tools to succeed in education.

We welcome referrals from commissioning schools and local authorities for KS1 & KS2 students who require an alternative approach to their education and learning.

Our approach focuses on instilling self-worth and belief, and developing personal empowerment, by offering alternative education that nurtures the skills young people need to craft fulfilling and purposeful lives.

Freedom Foundation strive to foster essential study skills that encourage both independent thought and collaborative growth, ensuring every learner is equipped to thrive. Our curriculum aims to inspire them to build the resilience needed to address their challenges, in preparation for reintegration to mainstream education.

We are committed to supporting students to overcome their barriers to learning whether they be academic, social or emotional.  By delivering a creative and nurturing approach that encourages them to embrace their uniqueness and celebrate their achievements, enabling them to be physically active and mentally reactive.

Communication – conveying information clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing, through creative tasks and song writing.

Teamwork – working effectively with others to achieve a common goal, including collaboration, conflict resolution, and group problem solving. We achieve this through movement-based tasks including choreography, staging and performance.

Creativity – thinking outside the box to come up with new ideas or solutions. We achieve this through music, dance and song writing.

Emotional Intelligence – Recognising and managing your own emotions and the emotions of others, by providing tools to help alleviate anxiety, explore expression through song writing and identify how we feel and how we can overcome some more complex emotions.
Critical Thinking – analysing information and making reasoned judgements, by educating and exploring the effects of social media and how we can be safe online.

Public Speaking – speaking in front of a group, by encouraging students to present their work through performance and share with their peers what they have achieved in a creative way.
