Academy21, accredited by the Department for Education under the Online Education Accreditation Scheme (OEAS), is a leader in live online alternative education. We offer flexible, high-quality learning solutions tailored for students who require an alternative to traditional schooling. Our comprehensive curriculum spans KS2, KS3, and KS4, delivered by experienced teachers in a supportive virtual environment. We partner with schools and local authorities to ensure students with additional needs or challenging circumstances receive the education they deserve.

Our key strengths include live interactive lessons in small class sizes, ensuring personalised attention and engagement. We provide extra support for both learning and wellbeing, with flexible timetables to accommodate each learner’s needs. Our approach is inclusive, catering to students with special educational needs (SEN), medical conditions, or emotional difficulties. Academic qualifications:

English Language, English Literature, Maths, Science (Combined/Triple), Geography, History, Citizenship Studies, and Art & Design (iGCSE).

Functional skills:

English (Level 1 and 2), Maths (Level 1), Digital Skills (Level 1), Cambridge Nationals IT (Level 1 and 2)

SEND provision:

Academy21 works with students nationwide, in collaboration with their schools or local authorities. We are fully inclusive and support young people facing various challenges, such as special educational needs (SEN), medical conditions, or emotional difficulties. Our flexible approach allows us to provide the right support for each student’s unique journey, whether they need short-term help or a long-term solution.

Our teachers are skilled in making online learning accessible and engaging for all students. They adapt lessons to suit each child’s needs, aiming to boost academic skills, confidence, and enthusiasm for learning.

Therapeutic/nurture/wellbeing support:

In addition to the core programmes, we deliver a compelling and comprehensive programme of courses and individual support that equips learners with special educational or additional needs to thrive in their learning and wider life.

Wellbeing Mentoring
Focused group sessions (up to 3 students) and 1-2-1 mentoring with experienced professionals to help students manage their wellbeing and engage with their learning.

One-to-One Counselling
Intensive, personalised support from accredited counsellors, using CBT and person-centred therapy to address significant wellbeing issues.

Anxiety Management
Small group sessions using a curriculum designed to help students understand and manage anxiety through psychoeducation and coping strategies.

Social Skills
Small group sessions to enhance students’ social interactions, understanding of social norms, and communication skills in a supportive environment.

Reintegration & Wellbeing
Sequenced curriculum of workshops focusing on personal development, wellbeing, transition and reintegration.

Health & Wellbeing Workshops
40-minute themed workshops. These include life strategy sessions and covers themes such as anxiety, exam confidence, resilience, and mindfulness.

Fees:

We collaborate with our clients on the premise that the best environment for students to learn is within a mainstream secondary setting. Our services support short stay provision, reintegration and meet the needs of day 6 provision but when appropriate, are also commissioned to work with young people on a longer-term basis through to their examinations. To deliver this flexibility we offer a range of commissioning options, charged per subject per pupil per week
