What’s on offer?
We provide 1:1 trauma-informed education and mentoring to support pupils from KS1 to Post 16, who:
• are LAC
• have a SEND (including those with EHCPs)
• are permanently excluded (or at risk of permanent exclusion)
• are known to the Youth Offending Team
• are medically unable to attend school
• have SEMH needs
Tutors develop personalised schemes of work for pupils, focusing on incorporating their interests and building a positive relationship.
Key Strengths
We provide:
• qualified teachers with at least 3 years’ experience of delivering 1:1 and small group support to vulnerable learners in mainstream and specialist provisions, and as part of public bodies such as CAMHS/Social Services
• A Team Around the Child in the form of our SENDCo, Designated Safeguarding Team, and SEND specialist support staff. This team are responsible for the pupils’ welfare and progress while in our provision and are trauma-trained curriculum, behaviour, mental health, and Elective Home Education specialists. This team are available to:
o Support for families and care homes to ensure the young person’s engagement with our provision is maximised.
o Work with the tutor to devise schemes of work and strategies to support the young people to make progress towards their targets.
o Attend EHCP, CIN, PEP review meetings and feed into the Graduated Response with schools/education providers.
Academic qualifications:
We will teach to specific curriculums for schools/ colleges. We provide interim education with the desired outcome being reintegration into a mainstream or alternative provision setting. However, when this is not possible, we can facilitate exam entry for private examination centres. When we do this, we are led by the courses offered by each examination centre.
Vocational qualifications:
Targeted Provision can deliver the academic elements of vocational qualifications and can also create bespoke courses to prepare young people for vocational qualifications, in line with their interests and aspirations.
Functional skills:
Targeted Provision can prepare young people for all functional skills qualifications.
SEND provision:
All our tutors hold QTS and have at least 3 years experience of delivering 1:1 and small group support to vulnerable learners. Our trauma informed support team (SENDCo, Educational Psychologist, curriculum leads and mental health specialist) provide advice and guidance to our tutors to ensure the needs of YP with SEND are being met.
Therapeutic/nurture/wellbeing support:
The success of our education is based upon building positive relationships with CYP. Our tutors and support team work using trauma informed practice and PBS to nurture YP and maximise the wellbeing of those in our care.
All our tutors have the support and guidance of our trauma informed support team which includes, SENDCo, educational psychologist, mental health specialist and DSL.
