What’s on offer?
Pegasus Therapeutic Learning Centre CIC is a part-time animal assisted therapeutic alternative provision based within a large rural outdoor setting in Harby, Leicestershire. The provision supports neurodivergent learners and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs who may struggle to access mainstream education environments.
A key strength of the provision is its vast, free-moving outdoor environment, which allows learners space, autonomy and reduced sensory demands. Pegasus follows a trauma-informed, relationship-based approach with strong PDA awareness, creating a low-demand, low-anxiety environment where learners feel emotionally safe and supported.
The provision operates a 1:1 staff-to-learner ratio, enabling trusting relationships to develop and allowing staff to co-regulate effectively with learners. This high level of staffing also allows sessions to be adapted flexibly in response to individual needs, interests and emotional presentation.
Pegasus is an equine and animal-assisted therapeutic centre, offering highly personalised experiences including animal care, crafts, art, woodwork, outdoor learning, life skills and therapeutic conversation. The provision works collaboratively with families, schools and local authorities to support engagement, wellbeing, confidence and positive outcomes for each learner.
